Playtime books...

...is a family business. The author and narrator of our children's Audio Books is Ann Twigg. Ann has three sisters, three children and six grandchildren and has spent most of her life working and playing with youngsters. During the tough post-war years, she was responsible for helping to raise her two younger sisters.

She married in 1964, worked as a Sunday School teacher and, by 1966, was raising two young children. Ann has always had a mischievous sense of humour and a real talent for tuning into to kids at their level. The books on this website are a true testament to her amazing talent for entertaining children.

This Website

This website was created in 2005 to sell children's audio books. However, plenty has changed since then and we are now involved in offering a wide range of audio books in German and English to cater for a wide range of tastes. In 2007 the playtime-books website started offering content from the talking bookstore. The talking bookstore offers more than 5,000 titles from some of the world's best known publishers and authors including the BBC, Simon Schuster and others. This arrangement has made it possible for us to provide an incredible depth of audio content for our customers to download from the talking bookstore.

We are on a audio journey and we do not know where it will take us. For now we are enjoying the ride. We hope you enjoy it too.

Our Commitment

Our mission is to produce lovely audio book stories for young children between 3 and 8 years of age.  We will be writing and recording new stories, creating new German-language versions for our bilingual collection and producing wonderful illustrations to make our CDs the best illustrated in the in the world.
